Editing

I specialize in editing personal stories and memoirs, offering in-depth revisions that bring out the heart of your narrative. I focus on enhancing clarity, strengthening structure, and deepening emotional resonance to ensure your story reads smoothly and leaves a lasting impact.

Editing is a collaborative process built on trust, communication, and respect for your voice. My role is to help your words say exactly what you intend them to say, whether that means refining the structure of your story, polishing your prose, or making thoughtful choices about when to follow convention and when to depart from it. The result is a manuscript that feels unmistakably like yours, only stronger.

My Services

What to Expect

  • 1. Manuscript Submission

If I did not provide book coaching services, we’ll have a brief consultation to meet each other and talk about your manuscript. Together, we will establish the editing scope, timeline, and cost to ensure transparency and alignment. Then, you’ll submit your manuscript for editing, along with the first payment.

  • 2. Terra’s First Revision

I will create a copy of your manuscript and complete the first round of edits. Along with the revised document, you’ll receive a version with tracked changes, a clean copy with all changes accepted, a style sheet for consistency, and a cover letter that highlights key remarks and queries.

  • 3. Author’s First Review

You’ll review the first revision, ideally within a week while my feedback is fresh. If needed, we can meet to discuss my edits before you resubmit your manuscript along with the remaining half of the payment.

  • 4. Terra’s Second Revision

I will provide a second revision, taking your feedback into consideration. The second revision is usually much quicker than the first. This round provides a final layer of consistency and quality control, ensuring your post-revision draft reads seamlessly.

  • 5. Author’s Second Review

You'll review the changes one more time. By now, your manuscript will have transformed into something that reflects the hard work you (and I!) have put into making your written copy shine!

  • 6. Discussion and Final Steps

Additional revisions can always be arranged if needed. After the editing process, we can provide any final feedback to each other about our collaboration. Honest reviews are appreciated! My last duty as your editor will be to check in on you and purchase your book once it hits the shelves!
